WELCOME TO THE VENICE AREA GARDEN CLUB

The Venice Area Garden Club seeks to develop our members' knowledge of Florida gardening and participate in civic beautification, designing, planting and maintaining gardens throughout the community. We provide continuing education and resources for gardening, horticultural and floral design; and support the preservation of our fragile Florida environment.

Horticulture Committee



HORTICULTURAL NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE


In preparation for the PLANT SALE, Horticultural is requesting members and friends to donate the following:

  • Form Pots Any Size and Any Number. The black plastic pots will be used to divide and transplant plants and start new plants.
  • Screening. Don't throw away Hurricane Helene/Milton damaged lanai, window or pool screening. Recycle it! This will be used in the bottom of pots for drainage.

Drop off at the end of the driveway of Karen Schultheis, 311 Pameto Road, Nokomis

Hypertufa & Leaf Sand Casting Workshops

Horticulture is hosting two workshops that are opened to all members and potential new members. Plan to visit both sessions if possible. Location is 311 Pameto Rd, Nokomis (Not Palmetto)
  • Tuesday, January 7th 9:00 - 12:00 AM
  • Tuesday January 14th 9:00 - 12:00 AM

For tips on composting household items such as banana peels, egg shells and coffee grounds, check out our Gardening Hints guides! If you are not planning to compost yourself, consider donating these items to the Horticulture committee.
