PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Welcome to the Venice Area Garden Club. In this, our 68th year, we are celebrating the 100th year of the city of Venice. Our club will be participating in the event in the following ways. We are having the Venice Area Historical Society portray a historical figure at our Christmas luncheon. In January, we are collaborating with the Lemon Bay Garden Club for a joint Standard Flower Show “Birds of a Feather Garden Together”. The Venice Audubon Society will be participating in this event. In March, our garden/home tour, “Centennial Garden Celebration” will include a historic farmhouse. And we are just getting started in this year and a half long community-wide celebration.

We continue to be a highly active club promoting our mission to educate our members and the community on the benefits of gardening and preserving our environment. We actively encourage and demonstrate the art of floral design and crafting. We continue to raise funds and award scholarships to local college students and campers. We join in the love of planting and propagating plants through our horticulture meetings. Our fellowship and friendships make all the work a pleasure.
